10 Things To Know About Ramona Grace Cadwin
1. Born and raised just outside of Manchester, New Hampshire.
There is nothing truly remarkable to be told of Ramona's upbringing. Growing up in an upper-class suburban family did not lend itself to many wild experiences. Instead, Ramona was relatively sheltered right until the end of high school.
2. Her parents (Alice and Jeremy) have been married for 28 years.
Truth be told, Jeremy Cadwin met Alice McFaye while she was catering a party his family was hosting. Though the young couple stemmed from very different backgrounds -- Jeremy was privileged to be studying law at an Ivy League university, whereas Alice, with dreams of becoming a movie star, was working her way to Hollywood -- they clicked nonetheless. Little over a year later, they were engaged. Jeremy went on to become a successful attorney. Alice eventually realized the "acting thing" wasn't going to work out, and instead focused on raising the many kids to come.
3. Is a middle child, with two older siblings (Jude and Kenzie) and two younger siblings (Cybil and Russell).
Jude is 27 years old and a budding environmental lawyer. Kenzie, 25, has a daughter with her longterm boyfriend; they are set to marry this fall, once she wraps up her degree in Political Science. Then comes Ramona, soon-to-be 21 years old and studying in Connecticut. Cybil, 18, has just graduated from high school, leaving Russell, 16, alone at Trinity.
4. Attended Trinity High School and graduated at the top of her class.
In school, Ramona was always friendly and well-liked, albeit fairly introverted. Her grades rarely dipped below a B+ in any course -- Art and English were always her favorites. She participated in several extracurricular activities, snapped pictures for the school newspaper throughout Junior and Senior years, and had even been in the running for prom court. Ramona was not, however, one of the seemingly glamorous girls who dominated the school's social order, but her time spent reading or drawing kept her too busy to notice.
5. Took a year off between high school and university to work, travel, and help raise her niece.
After graduation, Ramona was in no rush to return to school. Instead, she felt more confused than ever about where life was taking her. Mrs. Cadwin, as she'd been doing for years, continued to not-so-subtly urge her daughter to pursue a modeling career. Mr. Cadwin, on the other hand, felt Ramona's proficiency at science should not go to waste, and therefore insisted she consider med school. Thankfully, the birth of Kenzie's daughter, Mallory, provided Ramona with a suitable plan: stay in New Hampshire, help with the baby, and save up money. From time to time, she and her friends would also go on short road trips to nearby states, but Ramona never strayed very far.
6. Currently studying Fine Arts at Hampton University in Connecticut.
When it came time to apply to university, Ramona had decided on two things: she wanted to study and she wanted to get away from home. She was not trying to be rebellious, but felt both ready and capable to move beyond her comfort zone.
7. Her dream job is to illustrate children's novels.
What started as a hobby -- drawing colorful doodles for baby Mallory -- quickly escalated into a passion. Not only was it fun to create these drawings, but even Ramona was forced to admit that she had a flair for it. Sketching animals and princesses allows her to dip into a fantasy world and, while doing so, shrug off any stress or worries.
8. Though its intensity often fluctuates, she has secretly been dealing with an eating disorder since middle school.
Sadly, Ramona is fully aware of the damage she has inflicted on her body over the years. Her naturally small frame has, at times, appeared painfully thin, while other days she looks perfectly healthy. She has never been treated for her problem, nor does she ever plan to, but does suspect the years being dragged to acting auditions and model casting calls are to blame. What's more, Ramona is well-equipped for defending her body whenever it hits a low -- usually, falsely accusing a spastic thyroid gets her off the hook.
9. Is a virgin in more than one sense of the word.
The list of things Ramona has never done is rather long, and stretches to include: smoking, drugs, getting into a physical fight, eating sushi, wearing fishnet stockings, traveling Europe. And yes, when it comes to sex, she is also a virgin -- a fact she doesn't openly share. After once dating a boy who was a little too forceful and demanding, Ramona had effectively (yet unconsciously) been scared out of getting very intimate with anyone.
10. She can sometimes be terribly shy, is rarely confrontational, and keeps her feelings bottled tight.
That being said, Ramona is still an extremely caring person. In fact, once she opens up to someone, the story changes. Around those she loves and trusts, she'll wear her heart on her sleeve and usually won't hesitate to go the extra mile for a friend.
